Good afternoon, ladies,
I am just getting back into jogging after having had a PM installed about three weeks ago.
Are there any female joggers/athletes out there who have found a brand or style of sports bra that works particularly well with a pacemaker? Now that I have a pacemaker, I'm finding the ones I've always used to be extremely uncomfortable, with the elastic strap coming straight down the middle of the pacemaker and scar on my left side. In fact, one hurt me so badly the other night that I had to cut myself out of it! I'm usually a medium or size B if that matters.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Thank you for the advice, Lisa! It's good to hear things are feeling better for you after six months.

We are all built differently and our devices are placed differently so you'll have to experiment and see what works best for you. They moved mine higher and closer to my armpit with my last replacement (before it was lower under the breast) and my old work out bras were suddenly rubbing on the side. I ended up with Champion also. They have a line that is sized like regular bras instead of S/M/L and they come in different levels of support. I go for the super industrial, bouncing is annoying at the best of times but painful when it's pulling on scar tissue.
Still looking

This question was a suprise for me and actually why I just finally joined here - and here's the same question!
I have an ancient Champion "Shape 2000" sports bra that is totally worn out and must be 15 years old but it is the only one I've found that doesn't go right over the sensitive spot. It's got a traditional back. Champion still makes a similar style but it is a T-back, and I can't even put an unpadded seat belt over the device much less a bra strap. My sternum is slightly concave too so anything that pulls too much toward the middle is a problem because I dont' have as much support underneath there. That's why I've held on to that ratty old bra all these years. I'm eagerly looking for something comfortable that isn't too embarrassing to wear to the Y.
So - I'm open to suggestions too.

Elisabet, do you have access to a Hanes or Bali outlet store by any chance? They carry the full line of Champion. Lululemon and Athleta both have a lot of different styled backs so they may have something that will work for you. They are adorable as well as functional and I always look at them longingly, but they aren't enough support, imo, if you are larger than a C cup (which I am)
No luck with bras

But I got the womans Osprey Aura AG 65 anti gravity back pack last year. Wore it every day for a fortnight and it was magic. Was totally unfit and hadn't carried a pac for roughly a year, also very skinny up top. Felt the weight but no rubbing or getting in the way of the PM.
Good luck with the bra shop

I have found that wearing my sports bra under a cropped top really helps me .
You know you're wired when...
You have a 25 year mortgage on your device.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
Took a bit

it took a few tries to get the right now for me. The biggest help I found was "body glide" over my scar to stop any chaffing. The ones with adjustable straps are worse because the Velcro always seems to stop right on top of the scar. The non racer back ones were better until the scar healed a bit more. Now I'm back in a plain over the head racer back Nike one and it's good as before. (Had my implant in December 2015). Good luck.
