I just wanted to thank everyone again who supported my application for the Medtronic Global Heroes program. Unfortunately, my application wasn't successful. They said that they had received more than 250 applications for the 25 places this year, and it was very difficult to make a balanced decision (different medical technologies, people from many different countries, 10 miles or marathon etc.). They actually needed two weeks longer to reach a decision that expected.

I must say that I'm not that disappointed at the moment. It's something that happens every year, so I can apply again. And maybe first half marathon and global hero all in one year would have been a little bit too much. I'll now do some 5k's and 10K's in late summer/fall, and then in January 2017 start training for the Berlin Half Marathon again.

Seriously Inga I am very surprised that you were not chosen but glad that you're not too disappointed. Keep on running and the most important thing of all, enjoy it . ( A thought to keep you going is that all runs finish EVENTUALLY )
