Hello folks: I'll be seeing my general cardiologist tomorrow to try and figure out why I took 2 steps forward and 3 steps backward after walking a mile each day on July 21st and 22nd. My Inplant date was July 18th. The advice I've received so far has been that I tried to do too much too soon. I hope this is the answer but now I'm wondering if I pulled a Lead out while taking a shower on the 20th. When I was reaching upward with the arm on my Device free side the wand started to slip out of my hand and I grasped it with the arm on my Device side. I may have reached slightly above the shoulder briefly before I realized I was committing a no no. I've had no symptoms to suggest I did any harm but I am trying to cover all the bases here. I did walk a mile on each of the next 2 mornings without noticing anything unusual. When I tried it again Saturday morning however, I had chest pain and heaviness in the chest. Has anyone pulled out a lead? What are the symptoms? Please advise -thanks. Sid

I'd be the first to tell you not to hold back on anything just, because you have a PM. However, you may not realize it, but the implant takes it toll on our body. You really should rest for a couple of weeks. There is certainly nothing wrong with walking, but to do a mile on two consecuative days within a few days of the implant may be a little too much for your body to handle. Your PM may need some adjusting which could also account for you not feeling well. If you displaced a lead you likely would be dizzy and/or light-headed. The same or similar symptoms as before the PM.
My guess is that you just overdid it. The likelihood of displacing a lead is slim, but it is possible.
