Contact sport protection

Hi i’m posting from Ireland I need some advice. Preferably from a fellow sportsman.

I've had my pacemaker for a year now and apart from my initial surgery complications that set my recovery back a few months, I am 100%. I need advice for what sort of protective gear I should aim for when returning to my sport.

I have returned to an athletic way of life (power-lifting, cycling, body resistance) but am concerned about contact sport. Without going into too much detail, the sport I play (hurling) is very vicious and is roughly what you would get if you crossed rugby, baseball, and hockey.

I wouldn't be writing this if I didn't feel worried.

Thanks

You can try these, they're the most durable out there that I've seen, but generallly they tell us to avoid full contact sports. You won't damage the pacer because it's titanium, but we aren't quite that tough. Lifting and cycling don't require anything extra.

I'm very happy someone has already asked this question. It has already answered a large number of questions I had and also now knowing about the paceguard
