Chest pain related to my ICD?

Hello - I'm brand new to this site, but have had my ICD for close to seven years now due to HOCM post myectomy.  Over the past few months, I have had very sharp pains close to my ICD.  The pain seeems to me to be below my ribs and is very sharp and intense.  Today, the pain brought me to my knees it was so intense.  It did pass and I feel OK now, but I also am aware of something still causing minor discomfort.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience with their ICD years after it was implanted.

Thanks!

I don't think I can offer much help or insight, but based upon your description of the pain it seems that you should see your doc. Better to be safe than sorry!

Weird chest pain

I too have experienced some chest discomfort only 4 months post PM implant for 3rd degree heart block after cardiac ablation procedure. I get these sort of sharp stabbing pains near the implant site and somewhere around the armpit. I told my EP and cardiologist about the discomfort and I'm scheduled for a Doppler Ultrasound on Sept 16th to make sure there is no blockages. I have a great EP and Cardiologist that listens to my concerns after a lot of member say its just scar tissue forming I'm not so certain that its suppose to be painful. I wish you the best in getting answers but pain is not normal. Get answers

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
