Fire Alarms and Pacemaker Interference

I started a new job a few months ago and we had our first fire drill since i have been there yesterday.  It was the loudest noise i had ever heard, nothing like other fire alarms and there were strobbing white lights to go along with it. The sound was emerging from all of the lights in stairwells and hallways and of course there were a lot of people talking.  On the way down the noise was physically hurting me so much that i was covering my ears and got hit with the doors a few times.  I felt nauseous outside but not too bad.  We waited about ten minutes and i was starting to get a headache, and then went back in.  As soon as I re-entered the small hallway with everyone talking i felt a migraine and nausea hit me like a ton of bricks. I went upstairs and i was sure i was going to vomit, though i only ended up dry heaving a bit but the feeling lasted two hours before i felt back to normal.  It was almost like it stopped the pacer from working and i was experiencing the AF that led me to having a pacer put in.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

I think it was a blend of anxiety and stress coupled with a headache and a little pain. I doubt that it had anything to do with your PM. I've also had the same feelings from a focal migraine.

These PM's are extremely reliable, rugged, durable and are not likley to be negatively impacted by much of anything.

Oh, you do know that you can still get AF even with a PM.

You know you're wired when...

You invested in the Energizer battery company.

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
