Static Electricity

Why do you have a great deal of static electricity around your home ?  What is the source and    

how is it "bothersome" to your husband  ??

I'm assuming we have a lot because it is incredibly dry here in southeast Wyoming and we have microfiber furniture.  It is bothersome because he is constantly being shocked and I'm sure you understand that is uncomfortable.

Mrs C. :    It must be awful being frequently shocked and I sympathise with your husband. . I'm not sure if you mean he is being shocked by the static or being shocked by the pacemaker ( ICD ? )  

If he is being shocked by the implanted device there could be other explanations e.g. the settings

What does your husband's cardiologist say about the frequent shocks, if you are talking about the static shocks does he feel that they are a threat  to your husband's health ?   Does anything show up on the PM interrogation ?

... you are referring to the little zaps from the static electricity, not that the ICD is shocking his heart?

you can always boil some water to humidify the air.  

Either a pot on the stove or boil a kettle.

if you have radiators, just place a pan of water on them, the water will evaporate as the rads heat up.

You could boil water as suggested, OR you could invest in a humidifier, that would make the air in the house more humid and decrease the ability to build up static electricity.
