Pacemaker Station/Monitor - Hooks up to a Phone Line

I do not know if this is the correct area to post this question. Here goes:  Does anyone have a little station/monitor for a pacemaker that hooks up to a phone landline? The monitor/station communicates with the nurse practioner's office or with the cardiologist? I use a Boston Scientific pacemaker and was given the option to take one of those little station/monitors home. You plug it into an old-fashioned landline. I told the NP that I have a port for a landline at home but it is not active. My home phone is a cell phone.

Then I said that I would call the cable company and activate the landline port. She said that it would not work because the station/monitor does not work on digital waves. I do not think that analog waves for phones exist anymore. If anyone has a station/monitor, please let me know what type of phone landline she is talking about. Who should I call? I even called Time Warner (Spectrum)  and inquired. I really think that my pacemaker should be monitored while my body gets accustomed to it.

can you give her a quick call to find out what is needed for the unit?

i wouldn't want a wifi type unit, depends if you can get to a pacemaker clinic for the readings.

best wishes,

Thanks

I will call Boston Scientific. Did not want to overstep her but sounds as if I need more info. Again, thanks for the feedback.

Monitor

Hi. I have a Boston Scientific PM with the bedside monitor and I also have Time Warner Cable with phone service thru them. My monitor works fine. I called after I installed it and confirmed that they got the initial scan. I believe as long as you have the phone jack on there is no difference whether it's one of the phone companies or a cable company providing the service. It just can't be cellular.

Phone Line to Monitor

I will due to see my NP for the PM monitoring next Monday. I will ask again. She did not want to give it to me because she said that she can monitor me here. And that it would cost me extra money to set up that line which was probably digital and it would not work. So I have a lot of convincing to get the unit so I can at least try. Thanks for all the feedback. And especially thank you to the other Boston Scientific PM recipients.

Welcome, Bonnie. Sorry to meet you under these circumstances. But the way I see it, we are helping one another and have been given a new lease on life.
