Sleep rate and poor rate response control

Hi!

I'm seriously hoping you can help shed light on something for me.

I had my device changed in Dec as part of a larger op. Before the surgery I was using ventilation response which helped improve my quality of life lots. Now I only have the option of rate response which so far (9 weeks and counting) hasn't been programmed to improve things back to how they were.

Now they'vactivated the sleep rate so I drop to 50 bpm which I know is perfectly fine but I'm feeling more tired yet sleeping the same. Has anyone else found this? Also, does anyone know if a lower resting HR during sleep with a history of clots increases the risk?

Many thanks

X

wondering..

Just wondering if you have had a sleep study.  After mine, I was started on oxygen at night and that really helps.  I have heart failure (among other heart issues) that has caused Central Sleep apnea, in addition to obstructive.  But I was also experiencing 02 desat, independent of any apnea, due to poor heart function.  The oxygen helps so much with everything... sleeping and feeling refreshed upon waking and even energy the next day.  Worth looking into.

As for concerns about your heart rate at night, I lived with 45-50 HR while awake and lower while asleep for about 5 years.  No issues with clots.  Though I do take a baby aspirin a day.

You know you're wired when...

Just because you have a device doesn't mean you are damaged goods and can't do anything worthwhile and have to lie down and die. In fact, you're better and stronger. You're bionic!
