I like to run but I recently had a Pacemaker from St. Jude Medical center installed.
I have had some problems because my heart rate was at times going too low, at times, into the 40 BPM range and below, then I would black out!
I like to run and have been wearing a Polar M400 Heart Rate Monitor, it monitors my pulse, with a heart rate strap across my chest.
I don't have high blood pressure! My BP is normal, but once in a while I black out, without any warning, this was my 3rd time! So thats why I have a Pacemaker.
My question is there any interfeence between my Polar M400 and my St. Jude Pacemaker?
I'm not going to give up on my Pacemaker, but if I have to buy another Polar Rate Monitor, I was looking at the Polar M600, which sense my heart rate at my wrist.
What do you think?

Should be fine

i use my Wahoo monitor fine with no problem, I did a lot of research and chest straps are much more accurate than wrist monitors, so keep that in mind.
Polar HR Monitor

I have a Polar F3....no bells and whistles. It uses a chest strap too and I find it is very accurate for me. It recorded 216 during an intense class and at my next interrogation, it showed the same on that date and time. Made me a believer.
I tried a different brand wrist hr monitor before that and those numbers were not accurate.

try before you buy

Ask to check them out in the store. I was not able to find one that works for me. Either the pacer interfered and it didn't show any beat, or it picked up the beats as well as the pacing spikes so it showed a rate way too high.
You know you're wired when...
Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.
PM is not affected

The PM is not affected by the heart rate monitor.
However some monitors does not work with PM.
AFIK there is no specfic HR monitor and PM combination that does work or does not work. Just need to try it.
