Chiropractic: masnjual and acticators

Hello
I had my pacemaker implanted 4 weeks ago. I had just started a chiropractic treatment when I had the heart problem. Since for 6 weeks I need to avoid anything that might dislodge the leads, when I went back to the chirporactor I told him not to do a manual adjustment in my neck as I was afraid that the jolt might have a negative impact. So, he is using the activator for now.
The people at the pacemaker clinic did not know. The father of a friend of my daughter's who is a pediatric cardiologist told her I should not go to chiropractic but he does not believe in chiropractors. Can anyone tell me if it is safe?
Thanks
Liliana

Your anxiety is normal. It takes some of us a little time to adjust to the new friend. As much as they love you, family and friends without a device just cannot understand the adjustment we go through. That is why this site is so valuable.
mostly safe

xrays and heat are safe. If you pace with rate response, you may find that anything with vibration will raise your rate because the vibration tricks the device into thinking you are exercising. It's harmless, but it may not feel good. The only thing we need to be careful of is large magnets, but they have to be less than 6" from our device to cause problems. It won't damage anything, but it can put it in test mode until we get away from it. It'll feel like when they interrogate. If you don't pace, you won't feel anything different.
