Perhaps you could have tried a different approach of suggesting another site rather than the put down of this site. Personally, I have dremendously gained from all of this comminuity insights.

Combine PMC with a FB Group

by Shaun - 2017-06-04 11:42:36

If you are looking for a more interactive experience and have a Facebook account (which I don't) then I agree that maybe a Facebook group is more appropriate, however there are quite a few very knowledgable members (I'm not one) with great insight who take the time to post on PMC and that is of great help to the rest of us. But why not stay and combine the best of both worlds posting both on PMC and a Facebook group? - it's not one or the other.

Wishing you good luck in all your endeavors

I went over your old posts to see if I could detect what produced your disenchantment. Nothing was obvious to me, but clearly the responses you received weren't helpful to you.

Too bad.

The information, support, and guidance I have gotten here have had a huge, positive effect. I am grateful everyday that I have the PMC to turn to.

Hope you can find a site that will be a better match.

Site

When I had my pm, my EP told me NOTHING.  I had so much help and learnt all about it from members on this site.  I have told EP that he needs to tell his patients more OR tell them about this site. He asked about it and said he would.

Thanks every one from nearly 6 years ago for help and getting me over my fears.

Alma Annie.

SORRY

by BOBJ - 2017-06-05 15:44:47

I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations, but after all how could we even come close? There is no way for us to know what they were to begin with.

I too have the dual pacemaker and icd. A lot of people do not understand the difference between that and a standard pacemaker. I see this too, but then again I am not perfect either and they mean well.

Sorry that you have to go through this. If you get a chance read my story.

If wishes could make your problems go away I would give you all that I have, but the best I can offer is this.

Life to a large extent is what youmake it. If you choose to live life as an agry person you will find plenty of people willing to do the same in return. If you choose to live life with love in your heart and a smile on your face you will find plenty of people willing to live that way with you just remember not everyone will. Some will still remain angry. When this happens remember a true test of self is not when everything goes your way, but when the world is against you.

Go in peace my friend.

Curiosity

i read this post and gave Facebook's group a test run. I was rattled to read the posts from so many angry pm recipients. Pacemaker club has been a great source of info without the drama.

interesting perspective

by Tracey_E - 2017-06-05 21:41:49

I left 2 of the 3 facebook pages I was on because they propagated misinformation and were full of negativity, in some cases just plain nastiness. When I realized I was regularly blocking people, I left. The third is my own page lol, so it's a no drama zone.

To each his own, but you are welcome here if you decide to stay. We may not always agree with you, which I assume is the basis for your attack, but we will always be polite and respectful. As we were in your one post.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
