rc model aircraft flying and ICD???

Good morning: I am waiting for my ICD implantation. I practice model aircraft flying  (rc controlled).

Any colleagues practices this hobby or know about any problems having an ICD?. The frecuency of the transmiter is 2.4 MHZ and the power around 0.5 w.

I`ll be very grateful for your experiences.

Thank you.

Roberto.

I never heard of that being a problem, we are so fully saturated with various frequencies and the devices have the smarts to isolate a protocol riding on the frequency which RC doesnt use.

Now the newer devices are wireless, which is disturbing, and I plan to learn some more about it (not wireless like wifi, but a specific frequency and protocol between you and the box by your bed or the box in the doctors office), but the lawsuits would be insane if simple RC or other transmitters could harm you.

The frequency we care about is one that is a harmonic and strong enough to a natural rythm, like power lines, hug the right transformer and the pacer may have issues temporarily while in the field but not because the device is being changed/programmed but that is confused as to what your natural rythm is it is trying to sync up with.

If nothing else take your transmitter to the doctors office during your next interrogation, do a little experiment and see if ti does anyting, or sit in the parking lot at the ER.  i cant see any way that this is an issue.

"But the trend is now to go wireless. Several medical manufacturers are now selling bedside transmitters that replace the wand and have a wireless range of up to 30 to 50 feet. In 2006, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved full radio-frequency based implantable devices operating in the 400MHz range..."

Well outside your 2.4MHz range.  but still if you are worried do an experiment with the doctor, call your pacer rep or device company, etc.
