Hi.
I have pacemaker (vitatron T70A2) installed in Aug 2010 in India. I am having regular check-up every six month after that. Last check-up was on May 25th 2017. I was told to have next check-up in three month as baterry voltage was 2.62V. For this device RRT is 2.60V.
I am monitoring bp and pulse rate regulalry, suddenly my pulse rate is now fixed at 65 from afternoon of july 9th.
I am in Albany (NY) visiting my son and planning to travel back in september.
I talked with my doctor, he said 3 months should be fine. I have few questions:
1. If somebody faced simillar problem, how long such fixed rate can work and are there some issues with having fixed heart rate?
2. Is it possible to borrow ECG/EKG montor from someone to get ecg printout, i need to send it to my doctor in India.
3. I am having basic visitor insurance and not very sure if foloow-up check up og PM is covered in that or not? so if i need to have ckeck up for PM where should i go for it?
Thanks.

This may be part of the pm programming as the battery is beginning to reach its end of service. My medtronic begins its protective state at about 6 months before end of service to allow for planned replacement.
An emergency room can take care of getting information to your doctor so a plan can be initiated.
65 bpm and associated fatigue

Your device has switched to the "elective replacement mode" to preserve battery power. This happened to me and I can tell you from my own experience that 65 bpm was not suffieient for me even to perform very mild activity without feeling fatigued. 65 bpm for me was not enough to support my body requirements and it had a cumulative effect where after awhile fatigue set in mush quicker even when casually walking around the Walmart for a short period and I will always remember the brain fog I experienced by the time I got to the checkout counter, For me,my pulse rate goes to 80+/- bpm just walking around in my house.; so the longer my PM was puting out only 65 bpm the worse I felt and each day the fatigue occurred sooner (The cumulative effect)---each time my body never fully recovered to it's prior condition. Personally, I would warn you that by September your device could be in the "end of life" or "EOL" mode meaning it is referring to the end of life mode of the device and not you personally. By that time you my find it extremely difficult if not impossible to scamper around airports, transportation and baggage handling. Again, based on my real life experience, I would seek out a replacement before leaving for home and then you will be able to function normally. I realize being in a foreign country can be difficult in your situation. Perhaps a call to Viatron will help put you on the right track in finding a good provider for replacement. I would not delay in making contacts as time is on your side. Also, keep in mind that battery life in the replacement mode is a best estimate made by a computer, so you may be pushing your luck if you wait until you get home for replacement. Good luck and let us know how you resolve your issue.

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.

I would suggest you go to an Emergency Room and get it checked. They can/will send the data to your Dr in India but also can tell you what is going on. A constant heart rate of 65 is fine, unless your normal is higher, then it could get uncomfortable but any resting rate 60 - 100 is normal
