Inspirational athletes

Enjoying the world athletics championships in London Uk and it's so inspirational. We inspire and support each other here on this forum but it would be great to hear from athletes who compete that have PM if there are any out there. So many of us have our own personal achievement when it comes to sports and exercise so let's inspire and hear your story.

Thirty percent increase in HR

by Triman67 - 2017-09-19 14:28:37

Had my MIcra  leadless pacemaker put in 1 week ago today.  My HR was around 34 BPM with a fib most of the time the past year, although my HR has been low like  that for decades. My doctor  set mine  at 45 Bpm.  This is working great so far for me, no longer dizzy when I bend down, more mental clarity  too.  I will have my tiny groin wound check done today, and I am quite certain at in 2 week check up  next week I  will be  cleared to do everything I was doing before my implant.  At 67, as an x triathlete,  I  still swim a mile 4 x weekly , frequent weight lift and ride my road bike averaging 18-20 Mph which includes hills, surf and kayak as well also  I look forward to my first hard workout shortly.  I will post again when I have put myself  and the  new nano PM to the test.  It is hell for me to do nothing so far for the last week except for walking as I have never been a couch potato!
