2.5 months after surgery, still have trouble focusing and get cold feet from time to time

Hello all

I had my surgery to get my pacemaker on 8/17/17 and was diagnosed with Bradycardia. For the most part after one month of surgery, I have been fine running and lifting weights as I did before. However, I have had trouble focusing at work as an Accountant, and some simple mistakes have led me to getting fired. Two weeks before I got fired I checked myself into the Emergency room after feeling dizzy/nauseous and was initially told one of my leads was "funny". They changed the settings, and I was told to go to the doctor two days later. For those two days, before I went to see the doctor, I felt better but still had some symptoms of feeling nauseous and dizzy. He adjusted the settings again and told me to come back anytime during business hours free of charge because I'm so young to have a pacemaker (23) that at that point its trial and error. Two days later I was back, and he increased the heart rate and said most of my symptoms could be due to a cough I was having. Two weeks later I still had trouble focusing. I thought it was due to the cold I had and tried to fight through it, being I took so much time off I didn't want to get in trouble with my employer. Well, that week I got fired and a week later after having more time to rest and recover from a cold I'm starting to realize I still have trouble focusing without having a cold. Is this normal for somebody post 2.5 months for surgery?

I know you all might be saying to see your doctor, but I lost my health insurance when I lost my job. I meet with a Professor in the Masters of Accounting program at a local Uni and just want to be able to explain to her the possibilities for my lack of focus that led to me losing my job. I'll be sure to meet with a doctor after meeting with the professor and report back.

You have health insurance options...

Starting with COBRA after losing your job.  Read through this link and check with HR from your previous employer.

It's also possible it is not PM related but something else like vertigo.
