I have had lead replacement (2 replaced), one lead snapped (redundant failed lead from 25 years ago)and left in the heart, end attached with scar tissue, the other end floating. I am having breathlessness with significant huffing and puffing with exertion- (like before I had my 1st pacemaker over 25 years ago). 6 weeks post surgery- there is some talk that this fluttering is causing extra etopic beats and will take up to 12 months for heart to grow over the 4 cm strand-- anyone else had this or know anything-- feeling bit frustrated when I'm usually so active and working fulltime and have to stop to catch my breath if I do simple things like go up stairs or run acoss the road. Not feeling so confident in doctors explanations of pacemaker is working fine just a co-incidence with your heart.

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.
