I can’t get an accurate reading w a chest HRM, dual chamber st jude, in 2010 I posted same question, wondering if thete’s been improvement in the HRM’s or if any current HRM’s have solved the problem.

I use one with a chest strap and it seems to be very good. I have a Garmin Vivofit, an older model.

Pm and hrm

i have used HRM's for the vast majority of my athletic career until I ended up with a dual chamber PM after endocarditis. When I went back to training after recovering I found I could not get accurate readings with any of the major brands chest straps.
finally after much trial and error I found the scosche rythm + to work really well. It is an optical HRM that attaches to the forearm or upper arm, it then links to a garmin edge or similar unit to record the HR activity. Resolution and accuracy is very good and the arm location is actually much more comfortable than a chest strap.
i wish I had found it whilst I was still racing, it would have been my go to HRM.
they have also just released the Scosche 24 (I think that's the name), not used that one though.
hope this helps, good luck.

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Some members have had luck, I have not. Every once in a while I'll ask to play with one in the store but I won't buy again without testing it out first.
