Four weeks ago I had a dual lead Boston Scientific pacemaker and defibrillator & pace maker installed. Shortly after the surgery I noticed a sporatic twitching/pulse feel below my left chest pec and a dull throbbing pain at the top of my stomach (note: at times you can actually feel by hand and see the twitch by eye). A few days following the surgery they adjusted the voltage on the lead based on my concern. This change initially lowered both the number andstrength of of occurances. Although, in the past couple of weeks the frequency has increased again (?) Prior to lowering the voltage they were able to initiate the thumping/ticking by increasing the voltage so I am prety comfortable knowing the lead/lead voltage it is linked to the twitch/pulse issue. Additionally, in the same time frame I have begain to experience digestive issues along with constant "bloated feel" (may or may not be inked). Having said all of this.... is this "normal"?, do my symptoms indicate a poorly placed lead that needs to be readjusted (?) I know only a Dr. can diagnose me.... and trust me I am in direct communication with him about this. However, I just wanted to learn what others have experienced. Thank-you in advance!

Niecy.... I was honestly hoping to hear something along the lines of how you responded. When I went in initially to have my device checked, they mentioned adjusting the voltage down after about 3 months ... when the leads had fully set. Although at the time I'm thinking... "why would I want these things to "set" if they are not right (?)” I am ok and have peace of mind that what I am experiencing is not abnormal and is typical of a normal adjustment period. Thank-you for sharing.
P.S. I think the stomach pain is aligned with the daily baby aspirin I have been taking. I upped my acid reflux med and it seemed to do the trick. Wow going from healthy (running marathons ... not taking anything but daily vitamins) ... to my current condition of just watching sports on TV sucks.... But hey it's life! Hoping to get the green light to get moving with no restrictions soon.
Be good and thanks again!

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.

Hello Berzerk.
Has your doctor mentioned diaphragmatic stimulation? I have had it, too. Your case puzzles me because it isn’t supposed to be a problem when sitting upright. Basically, it’s a position problem and strength of the voltage your PM is set at problem. After the first couple of months, they’ll make more adjustments and hopefully you will feel an improvement.
I can’t address your other problem but I hope I helped with this one!
