Hi all,
I am posting to ask if anyone would be interested in helping our start up company develop a product for ICD patients and their loved ones. The idea is outlined at loismedical.com. We are initially looking for 100 hundred ICD recipients for some market research and then eventually some of these people would be invited to help us test the actually product in the field. We have filed a patent but we would like to prove a real need before we spend too time and effort in a product that your community might not need. I am a ICD specialist by trade and will be genuinely grateful for any help you can offer. I am not selling anything so I feel this request is respectful of the rules of the group.
If you are interested in helping you can enter your email on the website. www.loismedical.com. If not then thank you for reading this post anyway.
The idea is that our 'smartband' detects if you have received a shock from your device and then informs your nominated loved one(s) with optional GPS location. They are statistically more likely to be near you and on hand to offer assistance if necessary.
We also call you/your loved one(s) following a shock to offer expert advice from ICD trained healthcare professionals.
Thanks again.
Kristian

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
Suggestion

Read the description of your technology, interesting concept, however as a long term recipient of Jesus Jolts from a defibrillators may I suggest an enhancement that I believe many patients would like...
when the patient receives therapy, could you alert their designee by shocking the crap out of them with a Jesus Jolt as well. Empathy...just a thought
