Roto tillers

Hi,  I had a Medtronic CRT-D pacer installed last week and I have a large garden that will need to be tilled in the spring.  I know about the distance I need to keep from the ignition system, but does anyone have expeience to advise if the vibration of the tiller will set off my ICD?  Aa jackhammer is used as an example in the pacer literature as a verbotten tool and while a tiller isn't that rough, there is more vibration than a lawn mower or snow blower.  Perhaps a rear-tine tiller would be a better choice than a front tine one as they vibrate less (but they are cumbersome).  I'd rather anticipate and avoid a problem, but I also want to be able to do my normal activities as much as I am able.

Robin,

Thanks for your comment.  I have used tillers for years, but just wondered about the vibration.  I am sorry about the lack of clarity regarding my device.  I have a bi-ventricular pacer with an ICD for dilated cardiomyopathy with a bundle branch block.  Until the day of the diagnosis, I was a runner and have been told I can run again when the pacer heals in.  I am glad to know you've used a tiller without problems so I can proceed.

My ICD/pacer is not a burden. I still play tennis and golf.
