Wahoo Trackr Bluetooth heart monitor

Newbie here - had my St. Jude single lead ICD installed this week after a sustained v-tach event..that I tracked with my fitness monitor.

What a great website and community!

I've spent a couple of hours reading this subforum, the interferences one, and a bunch of general web searching to figure out whether or not it's harmful to use this chest strap monitor. St. Judes FAQ: 'cellular won't affect device...but be conservative and use the other ear.' Nothing refers to low power ANT or Bluetooth. But, both of those are easily a 1/10 of the RF power transmitted by a cell phone..if not less. I guess the two worst cases are:

 - the ICD messes up the Trackr's readings

- The Trackr's EMI puts the ICD in test mode? It's an EMI thing and not a magnet thing, though...<shrug>

Anyone using this monitor and have any feedback/comments?

Should be fine

I use a Polar HR Monitor with a Bluetooth chest strap.  Before I bought it, I called Boston Scientific and spoke to them about it.  They advised instead of putting the sensor in the middle of my chest....to place it more to the right side of my chest (opposite side of my CRT).

I use it all the time with no problems.  It is very accurate for me....I know some don't have luck with HR monitors.  It syncs with the machines at the gym as well as my watch.

When in doubt, call your device company and speak with them.

Yeah, Polar has a lock on gym equipment with their proprietary version of ANT..at least at my gym. For grins, I tried the Trackr, both center of chest and right side, and the ICD interfered with the readings. Very unstable results reported to my phone app.

I bought a Polar H10 a month ago, and so far it's worked fine. No need to offset the strap. One caveat - my pacing percentage is very low.
