I had my CRT-D implanted on Wed. They said to wait 2 days before taking a shower. Not only did I wait until Saturday afternoon for the first shower, I also put plastic over the incision area and taped it up well. Within 2 minutes of taking my shower I had what can only be described as an explosion occur. Popping sound, white light, electric charge going through my body. After calming down I called my doctor who said it happens and since I was not showing any signs still present, to come in Monday for an interrogation of the device. I cannot find anyting on the internet on this type of issue / complication happening.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.

My EP gets alerted if I were to be shocked and paced out of arrhythmias. Ask if that's also the case with you.
The interrogation report will show anything as well, such as heart rate maximum.
I had some adjustments early on with my leads, and over the next few weeks you can expect some odd feelings while you heal.
