Hi Joanne, 

I had a similar experience with my first pacemaker. Long story short, I changed Cardiologist and found one who would listen to my concerns and not dismiss what I knew was fact.

You have the right to change doctors. I was glad I did, all my concerns were heard and I got the help I needed.

I was surprised you were at a mall just days later. I had to wait two weeks to drive and was told to take it easy so leads and pacemaker can have time to settle into place.

I don't know if any of this helps you. Be gentle with yourself and do what is in your best interest. You know best how you feel. Take care. I hope you find your answer so you can enjoy life with a pacemaker. 😊

Sounds like your rate response is really too high. I could not even drive over a bumpy road without my heart going fast and me feeling yucky! Ask them to adjust it. I had to just turn mine off! That was better. I drive a stretch of road every day that would make me feel yucky!! Just talk to your dr about it Hugs and welcome to the club and dont overdue!

That sounds terrible.  My isn't nearly responsive enough.  I see the PM tech for a tuneup in a couple of weeks and want then to turn down the resting rate (70 to 60) and turn up the rate response so I can get it to 110ish when walking (I walk about 15mi a day).

Thanks for the advice and help.  I think th CRT-D reacts a little differently than a pacemaker or defibrilator. I'm hoping aftr a few adjustments I'll be better. I need this.  I have CHF with an ejection fraction of 37. I was advised by Dr to get up and go but I'm going to slow it down and rest at home  see how it goes.  PVC's driving me crazy. Hope they slow down.  Im not driving, family driving.   Thanks again

Actually, a CRT-D is both a pacemaker and a defibrillator.  The D is for the defib and the CRT part is the pacemaker part which has 3 leads, 1 in the atria and the other 2 in each ventricle.  It paces your ventricles so that they beat in sync.  You may be aware of this but it may be helpful to some newbies.        

Cardiac Rehab may be very helpful for you.  It is an exercise program where you are monitored by nurses.  If you heart is acting up, the portable EKG you wear would pick it up and they would report back to your doctor. 

I was diagnosed with CHF, SSS, LBBB and an EF of 24%.  That was over 9 years ago.  I watch my diet, still exercise, take meds and my EF is now 55%.  Not everyone sees such improvement, I am very lucky.

When I first got my CRT-D, I was afraid to move much.  I didn't know what might set the defib off so I asked my Cardio if I could go to Cardiac Rehab.  I pushed my heart and worked very hard at exercising there.  My thinking was if something was going to happen, that was the place to be...surrounded by nurses and a crash cart.

Talk to your doctor about Cardiac Rehab....see what he thinks.  I can't advise about the small pops.  Take note of them, write down the dates and times and definitely mention it to the doctor and nurses if you go to Cardiac Rehab...Good luck.

Please know your post has offered some encouragement.  I did mention cardiac reab this will be my second stab at it.  When I was first diagnosed my ef was 25 to 35  what a spread?  then 4 months after diagnosis and reab along with toperol xl  aldactone and lisinopril ef became 50.  Body reacted to lisinopril and aldactone so they were stopped. Now on Valsartan and toperol xl.  Hoping for improvement.  PVC'S driving me crazy. Ef now37.  Thanks again  looking forward

Not necessarily three leads.  Mine  doesn't have the RA lead (AV ablation).

You are correct.  You can have a CRT with only 2 leads, such as yours.  Your model also does not have a defibrillator.

My response pertained to the original poster where Joanne's device does has 3 leads and a defibrillator.

Joanne:  If your doctor is not listening to you, get a 2nd opinion.  BTDT.  I had a doctor very early on in this journey who did not listen when I told him I had pain in my chest.  I went to another Cardio who listened...found the problem and resolved it.  (Fluid around the heart 18 days after the implant.  Many doctors will think it is just you being worried.  BUT...you know your body!  Trust your instincts.

So  I didnt get m full echo report but Dr did confirm fluid around the heart that he said was there before, no notation of tat on a echo done in Februar or MRI done in March. I do remember him giving me Lasix in hospital. I was diagnosd November of 2015 with CHF ejection fraction was 35 in March. I have LBBB also. Breathing ok resting and walking but soso when walk is brisk or i talk and walk.  Chest xray done this afternoon, results and m first adjustment tomorrow. Im nervous. Can anyone shed some light on a previous experience? Always appreciated
