Big thumps
Two nights ago I woke up to what felt like big thumps in my chest. They did not hurt. No other symptoms but definately a feeling inside that one would take notice of. Anyone have this type of experience?
Thanks!
Ellen

ICD may have paced you out of tachycardia...

Your ICD may have paced you out of tachycardia, if those are the types of issues you sometimes have. A full trigger I think you would have noticed. I've had both happen but was awake both times. They start out the same, at least for me, but instead of that final kick in the chest it causes just a little thud and fizzles out. Make a note of the day and approximate time and discuss with your doctor next time you see him.

If you have a remote monitoring device, contact your arrhythmia clinic and ask them to do a download for your doctor to evaluate.

I did contact them - and I have had some activity in the upper ventricular lead. I’m going in on Tuesday to see the Doc. I’ve had so much “movement”. Something I haven’t experienced before. I had my pacemaker removed in January and the ICD implante. It was not as easy as having the placement of the pacer. I’m still sore! But all in all I feel good! Just worried about how much the ICD is working!! Thanks for answering my questions!

The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event, but you will survive.

Sounds like your device gave you a shock....meaning you had a cardiac arrest while you was sleeping!
