Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone here is weighing lifting after having a pacemaker implanted, such as bench pressing, arm curls, back and shoulders,I’m 25 and weight lifting is something I do mostly every day and wish to go back to that .I had a pace maker planted 2.5 months ago.
thanks in advance for the feedback.

I lift, with my doctor's blessing, no restrictions. I deadlift more than my bodyweight, clean/jerk triple digits, do pull ups, push ups. It took a few months after my last replacement to get back to my old weights but I got there. If something doesn't feel right, back off and try again in a week.
The only thing to beware of is if your pacer is positioned so that either the leads or the box are close enough to the clavical to be crushed when you clean the bar, but most are lower and/or deeper than that so it's not an issue.

hello,
no isssues at all with working out. Just take a few weeks to get the wires and incision settled and healed and then you can slowly start to exercise. I even do martial arts and no issues at all.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.

I have an ICD and do cardio-aerobics, Pilates, weight machines and lift weights three times per week.
At my one year checkup, I asked that question to my EP. Yes, I can lift weights but not too heavy. My EP said no to full body weight chin-ups.
We all have unique situations and perhaps the underlying heart condition that required your device could possibly affect the answer. Recommend asking your cardiologist.
