Gag reflex still after 3 weeks?

3 weeks ago I had a pacemaker implanted.  Since then I have had:1

1. a new hypersensitive gag reflex.  Can't wear tee shirts or button my collar without feeling like I am going to vomit.

2. approximately 1x/day dizzy spells when I feel nauseous.  I may be motionless for 30 minutes before when this nausea arises.

3. dizziness when my eyes move quickly, especially while walking.

Anyone have similar symptoms shortly after implantation?  Thanks

I would call your doctor right away. I wonder if they knocked you out fully with anesthesia, or if you had conscious sedation?  There should be no reason that you have this.... call tomorrow. Feel better.

Feel like passing out?

I feel like blacking out more than I did pre-PM (which was never. A bit light-headed, maybe). I mentioned it to my EP after the tech said she didn't understand why that might happen. He said that could be fixed wth an adjustment in the rate responsive pacing. I haven't gone back in yet (it's not that bad), but I will, because there's no need to have your quality of life go down rather than up! The PM is there to help, not to create new problems.

So by all means, tell someone about all 3 of your issues. In the meantime, take your time getting up if you've been inactive; it may take a bit of time before the PM catches up with your body's sudden demand for more juice. The gagging thing sounds a bit odd, but if you don't ask the question, you won't find the answer. Be proactive: contact your EP right away and find out what's going on.

You know you're wired when...

You have an excuse for gaining an extra ounce or two.

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
