AV Node Ablation

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a while.  I finally had to get an AV Node ablation and am now pretty much dependent on my pace maker.  I was wondering if one of those Fitbit type exercise montering devices would interfere with my heart pacemaker? Hope everyone's is doing well.

thanks, Sharon

Hi Sharon,

Good luck and I hope you're feeling well after the ablation.  I haven't been without problems, after, but wouldn't go back for a minute.

No, a FitBit, or similar, won't affect your pacemaker at all.  Bluetooth and WiFi are perfectly safe to use around your pacemaker (good thing, they're everywhere!).

You'll probably find a FitBit a little boring if you're getting it to monitor your heart rate, though.  Your resting heart rate will be pretty predictable.  ;-)  They're great for motivation but be careful of OCD behavior.

Thankyou AgentX86,  I am thinking it might motivate me to get moving!

You know you're wired when...

Your electric tooth brush interferes with your device.
