Constant Cough / Wheeze Since ICD Fitted?

It has now been six weeks since I had a dual chamber ICD fitted.
In that time, the dry cough / wheeze I've had seems to have gotten worse. It is particularly bad when I lay down at night to sleep, often taking me hours to drift off.
My pacing rate has been set at 40, dropped from 50, after I originally had problems with a diaphragm twitch. Would turning the rate back up help improve matters?
Does anyone else suffer with similar symptoms? How did you fix the problem?

Visit To The Doctor

I saw the Doctor yesterday and she seems to think it is a build up of fluid on my lungs that my body is trying to get rid of but can't. Have been put on water tablets for the next two weeks to see how I go.

Have you consulted your doctor about this?
Dry cough and wheezing particularly at night are classic symptoms of asthma. Asthma and heart problems go together--nobody knows exactly why. I was diagnosed with asthma about two years post-pacemaker, and it suddenly got much worse 4-5 years post pacemaker.
But asthma is not the only possibility--and I"m not a doctor.
I suggest you see one.
