THANK YOU ALL

I made my first post yesterday "TOLD I NEED A PACEMAKER"...

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all that responded. This is an amazing site and I feel better than I did yesterday. I believe that reality of me getting a pacemaker is going to me soon or in the near future but I am still going for other opinions since I believe I have the time to do that.

I have decided to venture to the top rate cardiac hospital in the country..The Cleveland clinic. I will keep you all posted!!

and I again thank you soooo much for the responses!!!!!!

I am in CT, so if anyone is in CT or near(ie new england) I would love to hear from you!!

Regards

I think I posted a similar message after my first post. It is amazing how encouraging these folks are. Good luck as you explore your options. My pm is 3 weeks old and I'm realizing it's not a ball and chain. It's my chance to continue with my life with minimal changes. Please keep us posted as things progress. There are always new folks who will need your words.

I didn't see your initial posting, but from your subject line it sounds like you were shocked to hear you need a PM. That was me about 4 months ago. I've never had any symptoms and I have complete heart block and didn't know it until early December and I'm 32 years old. I too was going to make the trip to Cleveland Clinic, but I ended up getting my 3rd opinion from a dr. who actually did his fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic and he is now head of Electrophysiology at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. It's been 6 weeks since I got my PM and I don't feel any different. The main reason I did it is because there was a chance that I could pass out or my heart could suddenly stop...very, very slim chance, but there was still that chance. I sometimes get a little down, but I try to remind myself I'm lucky. If you need to talk, I'm here...good luck!
