Fishing

Fishing has been a lifelong hobby and of course running a boat motor along with it. Now I will soon have an ICD implanted and wonder if I will be able to run the tiller boat motor or will I have to buy a boat with a steering wheel, in order to put some distance between me and the alternator on the boat motor.
Any other fishermen out there with experience?

Hi Cap. You should have no problem as long as you take some precautions. An outboard motor is not listed on the items to avoid that I have but ignition systems are. You have to keep your ICD at least 12 inches away from the engine. I have been using all my lawn equipment including a backpack blower with no problem. I used to love working on engines but make it a point only to work on them with the engine turned off. The outboard has a good shield on it, as long as you don't lay over the engine while its running you are sure to be good to go. You can always check with the engine maker and your doc.
Good fishing, Boatman
