Bullet in the body

Is an MRI useful for patients with a bullet in their body?  If so, I'd imagine a pacemaker with MRI capability would also be useful.

Note that all modern pacemakers are MRI compatable but it may not be easy to get one.  Radiologists don't like to do it and will make you jup through hoops.  It took me a month to get all the t's dotted and the i's crossed.  Without a pacemaker it would have been done before I left the ER.

You also can't go to a Doc In The Box to get an MRI.  You're going to have to go to a large hospital, one with a cardiology/electrophysiology department and it'll cost at least twice what a Doc In The Box will cost.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
