Hi. I have a dual lead Metronic Pacemaker implanted August 2017 for total heart block.
I try to stick by all the rules regarding risks with any equipment that could interfere with my pacemaker. However I recently purchased a new electric toothbrush which is apparently electromagnetic. In the enclosed instructions it advises to consult your doctor or manufacturer of the device if you have any questions about a cardiac pacemaker or other implanted devices. Just wondered if any members had come across similar?
Thanks guys.

Don't live in fear of your pacemaker

The cautions you read on electrical and electronic devices are written by lawyers in a spirit of CYA.
The fact is nothing you are likely to encounter around the house will harm your pacemaker at all. Even the few things in industrial settings that might affect your pacemaker won't actually harm it. All you have to do is move away a foot or two, or less, and your pacemaker will go right back to normal functioning. It really will.
In daily life keeping anything you're unsure about 6 inches from the pacemaker will do.
It's good that you are willing to take responsibility for guarding your health. Take every reasonable care in avoiding hazards. Don't drink too much. Don't smoke.Watch your weitght. Wear your seatbelt.
But having a pacemaker does not add to the list of things a rational person must beware of.
Use your electric toothbrush.

Well, apparently teeth should be cleaner .... :)
You know you're wired when...

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
Keep brushing

No issues. Most modern PMs are well shielded from basic interference. Electric shavers, toothbrushes, household appliances, etc are all ok when used normally. Even airport metal detectors (walk through type) are fine.
it's the big stuff you need to watch out for. Like electric fences, welding, large magnets, powerful radios, or anything magnetic directly up against the device.
