IPhone13

I would like to update my iPhone 10.  I know the magnets are stronger in the 12 and 13.  Has anyone updated to one and have any problems?

I have a PM and an IPhone 13, no problems. My EP recommended keeping the phone away from the zone of the PM , at least 6 inches. I also use the speaker mode to keep it away from my ear.

iPhone 13 Pro Max

Hello,

I use the iPhone 13 Pro Max (the bigger one) and have had zero issues. I purposely answer the phone on my right side (PM is on the left side) and I am aware of how close I keep the phone at all times, but no issues that I have found.

I believe the rule of thumb is 6 inches and for most PMs, if within 6 inches, it just goes into "safe mode" until it is removed. I wouldn't chance it, but should be easy enough to answer on opposite side.

That being said, I have answered phone calls on my left (I forget) and haven't noticed any problems.

Thanks

Jer

Just don't sleep on it. 6" is a good rule for these things but this is usually a very conservative recommendation.

In the worst case it would put your PM into its "safe mode". It won't shut it down or do anything truly dangerous. Your PM would recover after it's removed.

My first iPhone and I love it!

I was always an android user - but things were falling apart so when I upgraded I went to the iPhone 13 - it's great.  I don't carry it in my upper left shirt pocket, though (since I'm a woman, most of my shirt pockets aren't really very functional, anyway).  I even was invited to have home delivery and set up, and worked with the tech on my front porch - so convenient.  Enjoy your new phone.

I believe the biggest issue with the iPhone 13 and implantable devices was the possibility that it could temporarily disable the shock from an ICD.

I contacted Biotronik about interference with my pacemaker and they told me this cell phone is ok to use, but to make calls using the ear on opposite side (right side for me), and, of course, to keep it 6+ inches away from pacemaker and not keep phone in a shirt's breast pocket.

I had this phone prior to my pacemaker and I had been using a MagSafe case, which means it had a magnet built into it.  I got rid of that case and got one without the magnet.   No issues so far.

I recently upgraded my I phone 6s to an I phone 13. I have had no problems. I keep it away from my pacemaker and talk on the opposite side from it.I asked other pacemaker members for advice before I did this and was reassured by their answers.

Good luck - it's a great phone!
