Vaccination and lymph nodes.

Localized swelling of lymph nodes is not uncommon after vaccination. They last for a few weeks before disappearing. Lymphoma also produces swelling of lymph nodes, but they don't go away after a few weeks. With a family history of Lymphoma, I would have any persistent swollen lymph nodes biopsed.

I had trouble after the covid vaccines. I really don't think it's anything more than reduced circulation because of so many years with leads in the veins on that side. I don't know how long it would have lasted if my chiropractor hadn't drained it, I saw him a week later and was still pretty miserable and swollen. If it was anything more serious than fluid retention from lack of circulation, draining would not have fixed it.

That it was related to the vaccine is just a theory, but it did get worse with each of the 3 vaccines and I don't plan to get more on the left side. My left arm is still a bit swollen. I saw my GP yesterday and he agrees it's likely the pacer but I'm not in pain, no red spots, no nodules so he is not following up. I'll ask my EP next time I see him since he has more experience with old leads.

Your final question about swollen lymph nodes  "Just wondering if any and what relationship this may have to my PM?” Is difficult to answer.

It would appear that a potential side effect of the mRNA Pfizer/Moderna vaccines, indeed all vaccines may include swollen lymph nodes and I attach a link to explain.  

I experienced lymph node enlargement in several places, including neck, and also noticed armpit pain after all three of my Pfizer jabs.  However I also suffered from a narrowing/partial blockage of a vein following pacemaker implant in 2018.  Unfortunately trauma to, or blockage of a vein is not uncommon following lead placement.  Fortunately I went on to develop collateral circulation around the blockage to help restore blood flow.  I now have prominent purple veins around my device to confirm this.  It is hard therefore to say whether my lymph node reaction following all three Pfizer vaccines was triggered by my immune response to the vaccine at the time or whether my symptoms are still being caused by the original pacemaker implant lead complication?  In my case I think it was a combination of the two.

It is always wise to get abnormal lymph nodes checked as soon as possible to rule out any signs of malignancy.

Pacemakers and Lymphoma

I am not aware (as a lymphoma/pacemaker person) of any association of pacing with the cause of lymphoma.  Regional lymph nodes may enlarge with any infection or inflammation.  I am not aware of lymphoma (for which there are many different types) being hereditary. 

If lymph nodes are increasing in size it is worth getting a medical opinion. 

Any vaccination into the deltoid( outer upper shoulder) muscle can cause inflammation and therefore regional enlargement of nodes, in this case the axilla (armpit). Vaccinations cause inflammation, as you will note by tenderness at the site of injection. Vials contain preservatives as well as vaccine.

I just want to thank all of you for your thoughtful responses to my concern. Just as a matter of information; the swelling in my lymph node has just about disappeared. I just had some dental work done, so now I wonder if that any role in it. If it is not gone completely very soon I will definitely get it checked-out. Also, I am still left to wonder about the swollen lymph node under my jaw/chin that I had surgically removed many years ago. It was much larger and benign, but there was never a determination with regard to what caused it. I know it is really not important anymore, so I guess that it is just human nature that I want to know the cause of a problem. Kinda like when I went into complete heart block at age 38. Never knew what caused that either. Some of my EP's have speculated, but nobody knows.
