My pacemaker is showing numerous AT/AF episodes with heart rates to 640. The NP says that is not possible. Any answers?

I'm aware that is not possible. My PM was reprogrammed in August and the 640's have been happening at least 2x month since then...one of them lasting 39 hours. I'm concerned that the docs didn't notice it and wonder if you have any thoughts on what could be causing it.

The question is "What is happening when atrial rates above 640 are being reported?"
And of course you want to know if the doctor has noticed it and if there is any cause for concern. Totally reaonable questions, all.
You shouldn't accept having your concerns brushed off with "that's impossible." You have a right to the answers.
Wish I know what the answers are, but I don't. Probably the only one who can give them would be your EP.
Just for the record, it's not uncommon for those of us with arrythmias to be faced with puzzling/contradictory data from our devices. All data requires interpretation, and that requires a broad knowledge base. That's why the doctor is being paid the big bucks.
640? (again)

If you can feel these episodes, it's a good idea to initiate a transmission at that time. There is a lot more information transmitted than can be stored for later transmission. A better alternative would be to wear a Holter monitor or event monitor for a week/month.\ in hopes of catching one of these episodes.
I'd also be unhappy if I didn't get any help from the NP. I'd demand an appointment to see the doctor (cardiologist, I presume). NPs and PAs are great for normal care but the doctor's job is to do the diagnostics and other tough cases. NPs and PAs work under the license of the doctor amd are assistants. This is a case for seeing the boss.

Thanks for all of your comments. I definitely need to meet with my EP.

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.
640?

A heart rate of 640 is not possible. You'd be dead long before that. Atrial rates can get pretty high (240-300 isn't unusual for flutter) but even that, I don't believe 640/min isn't possible. The NP isn't the one lying. Your PM is counting something but it's not your heart.
