My husband received a Medtronic pacemaker this week, 6/2022. I need to get him a cellphone compati ble with the app that collects data. Looking for recommendations for phones you are happy with. I was given a compatible list by Medtronic. Hoping to hear here which phones are better! Thank you!

I agree with Agent. Most any fairly new cell phone will support the app. I have the Medtronic app and an Apple 8 + phone. The app is very handy. You can track your activity level, if you want to and the best part is that transmissions are set up ( at least by my clinic ) automatically every 3 months.
If you or your husband aren't already familiar with a cell phone, you might want just want the bedside monitor.

If money is an issue, DC is right (I completely forgot about the Cult of Apple ;-). There is no reason to buy an expensive phone and buying used isn't out of the question. My Note 10+ is three years old and works fine. If it's on the list it'll be OK. Make sure you follow the instructions for setting up the app. You really can't do much without them at the other end of a phone call. It took me about an hour to get through but once I did, it went pretty smoothly.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.

As long as it's on the list I don't think it matters much. I have a Samsung Note-10. It works well but of course isn't sold anymore.
Not that it matters, here, but I'd go with one of the more common models. Accessories are more available and will be for some time. My case just broke and they're still easy to find.
The Medtronic app works really well but it is a battery killer so take this into account. You want one with a long run-time because the app seems to suck a lot of power. If I replaced my Note-10+ it would probably be an S22 Ultra (because it is really a Note).
