Background information?

Hi everyone, just to check, I've not much experience using this website and I'm wondering if we need to include and repeat background information when we ask questions of fellow members? In other words can members look up our previous posts where we have shared history, get informed, and then be able to better share their thoughts?
I don't mind repeating background information but would be interested in how I can find out pacemaker history of other members when they ask questions, so I could better help them.
Thanks.,

Hello Joe,
Thank you for your thoughtful post.
You need to be logged on to view a member's history of posts and comments made to other members, both recent and historic. I usually tap on the member posting seeking advice, which will automatically bring up his/her details, then scroll down to see their history, posts and comments.
When answering a message it is always helpful to have background information so that we can respond effectively. Of course with new members there will not be a history which is why new members are encouraged to give as much detail as possible about their condition on first joining, although clearly the Pacemaker Club does not make this compulsory on joining.
I see crustyg has given additional info so hope you can search the site better now?

I strongly suggest putting all relevant information in the profile. Chasing through many posts looking for history takes significant time and, frankly, I don't usually go that far - too little information density. The profile is very important. Please put your country (and state, if applicable) in the history too. The country actually matters because of huge differences in healthcare. I'll often not answer questions from Brits because I don't understand their healthcare system or customs.

...just put in the relevant details in your Profile and yes, we can (and sometimes do) check your previous posts for additional information - it's open to all. Members Only | Members - search for the member | there are their posts. Within a thread, just right-click the member name at the top left of their post, open in new window and you can see their previous posts, profile etc.
Please do *not* put personal identifiers into your profile (e.g. never post your device / leads serial number(s)), and remember that this site is fully open, and is searched by the major search engines, so that all of your posts are visible to world+dog. Your private messages are just that - private.
Best wishes, and welcome aboard.
