My 6 mothly pacemaker check was this wednesday. On the way I visited a friend I had made whilst in hospital who was overweight and he was given a triple heart bypass. I found him in a poor state of health with shortness of breath and fluid leaking out from his legs which looked a very nasty problem to say the least. The check went well but I am down to 2 1/2 years left on the battery which will equate to a life of 7 years. When returning home I was told of a near neighbour who has had a pacemaker for bradycardia
for about 20 years had been admitted to hospital having suffered a stroke. We did not get on and I am wondering if I will see him again. Never a dull life for me. Have a nice Xmas and forget your woes for a bit. And of course a happy new year to you all. Peter

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
