It's not really relevant to the question you ask , but I had an amusing conversation with a nurse /phlebotomist today....
As she plunged the needle towards me for my annual blood-test, I asked her if many patients faint at the sight of the needle.
She explained to me that " it is only men who faint particularly the bigger and the more masculine ones "
She then went on to tell me, amidst much laughter, that her most recent fainter was a local tattooist !

I checked with my electrophysiologist and she advised me to withhold my Elquis for 48 hours before getting a tattoo, and then resume immediately. I did this and had no problems. She advises the same for any dental work.

I'm on Warfarin and went to my Dr. on the 21 st of this month. My INR was 4.1. I asked about getting a tattoo while being on blood thinner and she said since mine was higher than it was supposed to be not to take it the day before the day of and the day after. I just got a tatto this past Saturday and maybe had 2 small drops of blood. Didn't bleed after either. I've had tattoos in the past and was worried about the bleeding. Other than the bleeding part it's the sanitary part that is a big deal. Making sure you keep the area clean and put the healing ointment on it. Warfarin is so hard to get adjusted. I have friends who take other blod thinner meds that say they don't get theirs checked but just every once in a while.

My pacemaker was installed in 1998 and I have not felt better. The mental part is the toughest.

No experience of a tattoo here, although I am taking an anticoagulant. I see it is not usually recommended to have a body piercing or a tattoo while taking Xarelto because of the increased risk of bleeding and infection. Have you consulted your doctor and Tattoo Artist about your specific risks and what do they say?
To be safe you might need to stop Xarelto for a period before and after a tattoo at your own risk since I see you have needed antiplatelet/anticoagulation meds since 2001 for stent protection and other health issues, so not sure that stopping Xarelto would be recommended? I would also be concerned about the potential infection risk and need for antibiotics, particularly with your past medical history.
Anyway, take a look at the attached link and see what you think. Good luck and please let us know what you decide (after consulting your doctor and tattoo artist of course). A pic posted in the Gallery would be nice if you do decide to get a Phillies tattoo (or share one now of the one you would like to get)?
