I went. I'm done!

Just got my 6th pacemaker implanted. For all of you that have to go for generator failure surgery, I'm getting to be an "old hat" at it. Still it causes a bit of trepidation. Mine is now finished and it went great. This is my 6th in 32 years with a dual implanted 25 years ago. I still have the same old wires, too. So far, this was the easiest yet. They really have improved their methods of reimplantation over the years.
I have gotten alot of really great information on this site and just want to let everyone know that yes, you can be a young person with a pacemaker and still live a normal life with a few small adjustments. I'm still ticking and my drs have grown old with me!

Thank you, thank you! You've made my day with your uplifting and positive post.
Thanks so much for taking the time to give us this great update.

I'm almost 64 years old...I'd gladly take 32 more years! Maybe even with the same leads!

I think of myself as a veteran pacer after only one year (compared to some others on this board) but compared to you I'm still a newbie!

Thanks again and have a super day,
Suze

THANK YOU

THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR YOUR STORY AND YOUR ADVICE REGARDING BEING PACEMAKER DEPENDENT IT MAKES ME FEEL A LITTLE BETTER TO KNOW THAT BEING DEPENDENT ON THIS PACEMAKER IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.
