I suffered the same symptoms.   But everything was fine.  I thought I felt the leads, maybe I did but I don't know.  Its just a matter of the body getting used to them.

I do not mean to be discouraging but I did not feel up to par for almost 4 months.  I am now in my 6th month and i feel really well.   

Be patient.  I was grouchy because i felt like you do.  But most of them work out.   Only a very very small percentage have problems based on what I have read.

Thank you for the comments, it makes me feel like it's not just me.  In some ways you feel okay but then, you realize no your not.... not yet.  Time, give it time.

A bunch of coughing is no fun. While this may not be a factor for you, pollen season is in very full swing where I am - if there's a possibility that high pollen counts may be affecting you, perhaps you could try reducing your exposure for a while. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Normal Feelings

When a surgeon tells you that they had trouble with something I think that the message can put you on alert.  Mine told me that there were problems with one of the lead sites selected and that quite a few different sites had to be tried. I didn't detect any lead site discomfort afterwards but the comment would have gone into the memory bank and if I had felt something I suspect I would have attributed it to what he told me as I was on full alert after the surgery.

I suspect that we're wired to behave like that and enquire. 

I do however believe that your sensations are genuine and that you've been tugged around a bit and you can feel that.  It's a really weird sensation having a device under your skin initially and it's a constant reminder too.  Try distraction techniques - relaxation or something that challenges your mind. It helps not to over focus on what you've been through.

I just have to learn that this is the new me and things will settle in their own time.  I must say it is so great to have a place to go where people know what it feels like and different people have different results which may be what someone else is dealing with.

You're not going to pull a lead but depending on how much/hard you're coughing, it possible but unlikely that you could re-open your incision.  Be very careful here.  It can get to be a real mess.

I always think that peer support adds something that medical feedback doesn't always achieve - empathy and telling it how it really feels !

You will get better and feel better but you must be kind to yourself in the meantime. You have been through an operation on your heart and not everyone bounces back like a beach ball physically or psychologically.  Give both a little time to work themselves out, and if you need some support - reach out and keep doing so until you feel you're all typed out!   That's what we're here for. 

In time it will be you giving advice and support to others.

So glad that I found this place and you are right... there is a support here that you can't neccessarily get from the "medical" personnel.  Nothing like having had the surgery to explain to someone what it is like.
