I had my first interrogation today. Everything looked good according to my Doc. The estimated remaining battery life is 9.75 to 10 years. I am pacing 94% of the time. Max pulse was 94 bpm which had to be during my exercise time. Settings: min 60, max 130, rate response on fast, recovery time medium.
I advised my Doc that I am still having a few episodes of light headed and slightly dizzy. He informed me that the pacer would not cure this. I was somewhat surprised by that comment. This could be due to the fact that I have had to change my BP medicine 3 times since implant and I know it can take from 6 to 8 weeks to get used to a new med.
All in all, my quality of life is better but can still use a little improvement. I guess for 5-1/2 months that not too bad.

I had an interrogation today also. I'm 9 months into my first pm. I pace 70% of the time, have a lower rate of 60 and an upper rate of 170bpm. I have 6-7 years left on this one.
Like you, my quality of life is better. I actually sleep well now. It does take some time to get used to it, and I'm not there yet. I hope you dizziness gets taken care of. hang in there and keep us up to date.

Light headedness and dizziness

The PM is not the cause of the light headedness and dizziness. It also does not cure it unless the light headedness and dizziness is due to very low heart rate where the PM would have kicked in to support you at the 60 bpm low setting.
Suggest you check out the potential causes
- side effect of medication
- fluctuating blood pressure
- rapid change in heart rate
You know you're wired when...
You can take a lickin and keep on tickin.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
Light Headed and Dizzy

I was also light-headed and dizzy after my PM implant in Nov 07, but it turned out to be the meds I was put on at the same time. Toprol (beta-blocker) was the culprit, my doc switched me to Cardizem (calcium-channel blocker) which eliminated both the light-headedness and dizziness.
Are you on any meds? If so, be sure to check these out as well. Finding the right meds are somewhat trial and error and will differ for each individual.
