I have done a bit of reading about Magnesium, and from what I read it is a fairly important for electical cunduction in muscles,including the heart.
Has anybody had any experiences with Magnesium and electrolyte levels that relate to heart function.
Anybody take any heart type supplements to help endunce sports?
thanks for all the great messages, and pictures, especially of scars :-) (thats a ripper),I think!?

In my case, magnesium was the only cause they could find for my sudden cardiac arrest. I seem to spill mag. at a higher rate than normal. I take 400 mg a day for 15 yrs and still struggle to keep level up to normal. Insist on blood testing to see if your levels are normal. My cardiologist seems to think it is most important med I take.

Mag=essential mineral

In the AFib support group, one of the 1st things we tell newbies is to take a Magnesium supplement.
Mag is 1 of the trace minerals missing from our soils and diets, yet essential for proper heart electrical functioning.
I take Schiff Calcium & Magnesium with Vit D.
When I 1st learned I was hypo-mag, I took 1,200 units/day.
It is an essential mineral, so "Mag-up" and the beat goes on in rhythm.

I take 400 mg of magnesium twice a day on instructions of my PM doctor. Have been on this for 3 years. Don't know if it helps or not but must not hurt anything.
