i've had my PM since 3/8/07........last interogation was
in June i think, everything fine. i got the PM because my heart was
stopping 3-4 seconds, i guess this is sss? anyway last week my PM started jumping in my shoulder like it was beating, but it was
way slower than my pulse at the time. My sister, a LPN walked in the door and it quit, so i never got to show her what was happening.
It happenned again yesterday, and lasted for about a half hour, seems to be related to my using my left arm a lot, and if i quit using it for awhile, just let it thang at my side it will stop after a while.
anyone else experience this, it's like the PM is hiccupping?
do you think my leads may have come loose and the PM is stimulating the muscle there?
my cardio is a little hard to understand and looks at me as if he
doesn't understand me, ( he is a immigrant).

Hi there,
I think it's extremely common to have all sorts of weird sensations for many months after getting a pacemaker implanted, and if it's happening after you use your arm alot, it may just be the nerves healing. However, if you are really concerned, it never hurts to get things checked over. It might set your mind at ease. I'm also worried that it seems like you and your cardiologist are having communication problems. Can you bring someone with you to your appointments to help with communication or maybe even consider switching doctors? Good communication is really key to getting good care!
Best of luck, Jen
THANKS!!

i'm beginning to think maybe it is just a weird nerve thingy...but i go to see my GP today and i will question him about it and maybe a referral to a different cardio.

able to turn off.....hopefully.....we'll see at 12:58 p.m. tommorrow, (that's what time it has been occurring).

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
spasms?

I have had my pm for about 15 months now. In the begining I had jumping like that also but it has gone away for the most part. I asked the doc about it and was told that chances are it is because of nerves and the healing process. I have seen on this site a person that had bad leads "leaking" electricity when it fired causing spasms also. Good luck to you,
