Pacemaker Change

Hi,

I wrote last week with a low battery question and got some encouragement and support from the group. Then on Friday, I went to my Dr. and found out my battery was indeed very low and needed an immediate Pacemaker change.

I had the change yesterday and am back home. It is a strange feeling. I felt immediately better, but it was in the background as I feel sort of groggy from the anestetic and such.

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.

Before the change when I walked it was like I was on the last stretch of a long hike and could barely make it. Now I feel like I could walk around, in a moderate fashion, not fast for a while. It is a wonderful feeling. Just wanted you all to know and I will continue to come here to read and study and maybe offer any experiences or things I have learned. My last Pacemaker lasted 5 1/2 years and I am hoping this one will last much longer. The prediction from the St. Jude Medical tech. is 9-12 years. Hopefully, I can get 10 years.
