Hi Michelle
You have gotten some sound advise from the others who have responded to you. I would add one more comment:
Why did your doctor(s) implant a recalled Guidant Model pacemaker in 2006, when the whole world knew back in 2005 based on revelations by the New York Times, that Guidant had covered up the defects in it's pacemakers and ICD's and had not told our doctors that Guidant products had caused and could cause deaths.
When Guidant's deception was exposed in 2005,no reputable doctor should have implanted a Guidant product into any patient. News of the Guidant product failures and dangers were made known to all physicians.
I was given a possibly defective Guidant before the truth came out so I cannot fault my doctors. But you were give a Guidant pacer a year after everyone know about the dangers of the Insignia Model 1290.
I would suggest that you confront your doctor(s) and ask them why they love Guiudant so much and why they cared so little for you by giving you a dangerous pacemaker. Best of luck to you. Ted

Michele,
it is time for a second opinion!!!!! I am a physician and your description sounds like you need another EP evaluation. You have had your PM for over a year and one would think the fine-tuning should have occurred by now. Why not get another "look-see" by the best ep in your area--the one who does thousands in one year. Maybe that is your EP but i would still try to pursue another opinion. you are too young to not feel well.

Hi Michele,
Ill be blunt with my comments. Find yourself another doctor before you are pushing up daises in some pretty little stone covered pasture, along with many others. Based on what you are saying the doctor you have does not know, or does not care. Either one can be deadly. Your pacemaker should have improved the quality of your life! It sounds like yours did not improve anything, but actually made things worse for you.
As for the recall on the leads, you may be getting the straight facts there. My pacemaker model (also a Medtronic) was put on a recall list about a year after I got it and I got a list of the serial numbers that were recalled and while my model was recalled, the serial numbers recalled were nowhere close to mine. Ive had it about 7 years and it is still working, I think.
I wish you good the best,
Pockets

I can fully sympathise with you over your pm.
It is quite annoying when we feel ill and no-one, not even the medics believes us. You must feel in a turmoil
really.
You need to go back to your consultant and state categorically that you are feeling poorly again and need something doing about it.
Hope you have it sorted out soon
