Life Insursnace
Hi there, I want to wish a healthier 2008 to all of us and families from (not so today) sunny Malta.
I have a question regarding Life Insurance. I have had an ICD for the last 5 years now and this had followed two pacemakers that i had for the previous 13 years. My problem is that I need to make a life insurnace but could not find an insurer that could help me. Anyone knows of an insurance company that cater for us?
looking forwrad for a positive answer.

Hello, I would like to jump in and ask the very same question. I have already been denied by groups here in the US... Seems they don't understand that before the pacer my chances of dying were enormous. Now with the pacer I should live to be very old and die of other "natural" causes. So yes, if anyone knows whom to call won't you please enlighten the rest of us?
Happy New Year! May we all continue to pace on!

Hi.
I have heard that AARP offers life insurance, $ 15,000.00 no questions asked.
It might be worth looking into it. Although, I'm not sure if you have to be a member.
Colonial Penn also always advertises a no questions asked life insurance offer.
If that doesn't work, start calling every insurance company in the book. There's always a chance one will be cooperative.
However, I do know for a fact that with a pre-existing condition, even if a pacemaker has that condition under control, we are still considered high risk, and the maximum we can be insured for is $ 15,000.00, if accepted.
Good luck, best wishes for the New Year.

Life Insurance

Hello Oliver,
As Dominique mentioned, AARP offers life insurance without asking any questions. I know of two other companies that offer similar policies, which are Mutual of Omaha and Physicians Mutual Insurance com. I'm no insurance expert, but I think these are called term life policies. I'll not show more of my ignorance and try to tell what term life insurance is. But for the policies mentioned above, one way they get around the need for a health exam, is the policies will pay face value only for accidental death during the first two or three years. After that time the face value will be paid for death from natural causes. Should the insured die during that first two or three years from natural causes, all premiums paid will be returned along with 7% to 10% interest on the amount paid in.
Certainly it is not outstanding life insurance like that we wish we had purchased when were considered healthy, but it beats nothing, I guess.
Good luck,
Smitty.
