Hi
I got my CRT pacemaker in august 2008 tomorrow I see my pm technician last time he told me checkups will be every 3 months the decline in battery life is not always linear in the last year.Tomorrow may be I hear different and since the next pm will be first time I get a replacament what can I expect? They told me is about 1 hour for implanting the new pacemaker , we only get local anesthesia.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.

As long as the leads are good (sounds like yours are) all they do is go in the same place, remove the old one, place the new one, close. It's fast and easy and recovery is a lot easier than the first time because no precautions associated with the leads (raising the arm) and it's all scar tissue. If I get an early appointment, I'm home fixing my own lunch.
