Hello pacer friends... I am not so good today... ;-(
I have been reading the wonderful post of caring and support this morning and it brings me comfort. I am sicker with the flu than ever before. It is getting better today... at least ... let's just say the tummy part has subsided for awhile.
It brings me to a question... Has anyone been really sick with the vomiting and had their heart go completely mad for a few minutes? Mines does then I get really dizzy and want to faint. I don't know if it is because I am so sick or something else. things have settled down for now so I thought I would ask. I must go for now.... I'm really tired.... keep up with the good news stories.... It really helps others like me when we are so vey sick.

....to warm you up and make you feel better. So sorry you're feeling under the weather. Hope all is better soon. Even before I had a PM placed if I was sick and you know....had to pay hommage to the "porcelain throne" my heart would go whacky....speeds up like the dickens. Never got faint, guess just lucky there, but would take awhile for the ole ticker to calm down. Again, feel better and look on the bright side, you should be well by Christmas! Poor poor pacergirl! I had the flu in November and it was the pits. Drink lots of liquids and slurp lots of soup and rest a ton. You probably feel faint because you are losing hydration when you throw-up and blood is rushing to your head when you bend over to do your business...your whole body is out of whack so it doesn't surprise me your heart goes nuts! At least you won't be sick for the holidays (unless you eat too much)!
Sending you warm fuzzies!

flu
by darrell2657 - 2007-12-13 12:12:32
ive had an icd since 1996 and have when i have had flu had 2 device firings, went to er and pottasium levels were dangeroulsy low, which has direct bearing on heart rate. doc says drink sportsdrink pottassium supplement or whatever to get pottasium level back up,which is being depleated because of diherra and vominting due to the flu i can speak from experience so i hope i helped out

I hope you feel better soon. I haven't had the flu since I got my pm.(usually just 1 cold after another) I think it's been almost 2 years for me. But, usually when I'm sick I don't throw up.(it's been 5 or 6 years for that.) It usually comes out the other way. Now, if I haven't made you sicker, relax, stay warm and veg out in frony of the tv.
